In the last years, Ibiza Rocks has become the preeminent live music venue on Ibiza from its trash-tastic resort hotel known for its massive pool deck of uninhibited revelers. In 2011, Ibiza Rocks reopened the infamous Pikes Hotel known for its history of rock and roll antics including the filming of Wham's "Club Tropicana" video and private summer soirees by everyone from Grace Jones to Freddie Mercury. Looking to recreate a luxury refuge with a rock pedigree affiliated with the Ibiza Rocks brand, Pikes Hotel has debuted with a refreshed look that still incorporates its rock heritage but with luxury upgrades and amenities that will make modern-day celebs feel quite at home.
Contained within a 500-year old Ibiza farmhouse, Ibiza Rocks House is a boutique hotel with the feel of a private villa from another time. A meandering countryside location is home to a retro bar and restaurant restored in the same style direction as the original property. Unexpected courtyards with intricate stone work face open pavilions and large terraces with views of the Ibiza inland. At the center of the property is Room 39 restaurant, also open to non-hotel guests, serving a modern all-day menu in an indoor/outdoor dining room immortalized by George Michael is now one of the chicest eateries on the island.
The Room
A rambling hacienda-style hotel offers a glam rock aesthetic within a series of junior suites, suites and residences ideal for more demanding parties. Tile floors are juxtaposed to vintage rafter ceilings and plaster walls with décor that mixes a Marrakech meets rock star in Bali vibe. Many rooms, even entry-level, offer fully equipped kitchens with small dining areas ideal for enjoying the island’s many organic farms and grocers. Even larger residences offer integrated living and sleeping area with terraces large enough for late night entertaining once activity in the hotel’s Marrakech Suite, famous for hosting Freddie Mercury’s birthday party, has been wrapped up.
